It was clear this product needed to be redesigned from the ground up with emphasis on the context of the product use and the users
One benefit of working from an existing product is that the feature set is already defined. In this case the features didn't need changed - just made usable.
This meant I could review the key features or user tasks and build workflows. From this I could then specify the following chart to aid in building the mock-ups.
Once the actions and state were understood the layout and interaction could begin to be visualized.
